Festival Information

The Big Shanty Festival is a long-standing spring tradition that brings Downtown Kennesaw together for a weekend of local art, great food, live entertainment, and community celebration. In 2026, the festival proudly marks its 50th anniversary, continuing a legacy that has made Big Shanty one of Kennesaw’s most anticipated annual events.

Location

The festival takes place throughout Downtown Kennesaw, along Main Street from Lewis Street to Summers Street, and across the tracks to include Depot Park. Road closures will be in effect during festival hours to create a safe, walkable festival environment.

Admission

The Big Shanty Festival is free to attend and open to the public.

What to Expect

The festival features approximately 400 booths showcasing a wide range of local businesses, artists, and food vendors, including:

  • Around 250 arts & crafts vendors

  • Approximately 30 food vendors offering festival favorites and local flavors

  • Live entertainment throughout the weekend on multiple stages, including the Main Street Stage and the United Bankshares Amphitheater at Depot Park.

  • A Fun-Fare Kids Zone designed for younger festival-goers

  • Beer available for purchase from 1885 Grill Kennesaw and Bernie’s Social Bar

Handicap Parking

Handicap parking will be available behind the United Bankshares Amphitheater. Lot accessible only from Big Shanty Drive.

Parking & Transportation

Parking is available throughout Downtown Kennesaw. For added convenience, a free shuttle runs continuously between the festival and Swift-Cantrell Park throughout the weekend.

Food & Drinks

Food vendors and beverage locations are spread throughout the festival footprint, making it easy to grab a bite or refreshment while exploring. Beer will be available for purchase from 1885 Grill Kennesaw and Bernie’s Social Bar.

Entertainment Schedule

Live performances take place all weekend across multiple stages. A full entertainment schedule will be released closer to the event.
